Ayasa Kajiyama, a flamenco dancer from Japan based in Málaga

Ayasa Kajiyama – Japanese flamenco dancer

Origins and first steps

Ayasa Kajiyama was born in Japan. At the age of 16, she discovered her affinity for flamenco in Tokyo, when she began training at Benito García's studio. She left behind her synchronised swimming career after an injury, seeking something that better connected with her passion for dance and tradition.

Training and style

You have learned from top-class teachers such as Milagros Mengíbar, Carmen Ledesma, Juana Amaya, Farruquito, El Oruco, Luis Peña, among others. He combines classical technique with more expressive influences from “street” flamenco. His style has an interesting duality: strict discipline + emotional sensitivity.
