BIOGRAPHY & ORIGINS
Training and flamenco roots
Inés Rubio, born in Reus (Tarragona) in 1983, began her journey in flamenco with the Jerez-born dancer Jaime Cala, her first teacher. Years later she moved to Barcelona to further her training at the La Tani flamenco school and with dancer José Manuel Álvarez.
Her artistic curiosity led her to travel regularly between Madrid and Barcelona, where she continued learning from renowned teachers. In 2010 she settled in Seville to deepen her knowledge of flamenco and continue training with figures such as Farruquito, Juana Amaya and Eva Yerbabuena, among others.
Stage career and international reach
She was part of Tarragona’s first flamenco company with the show “Tarraconeando”. Throughout her career she has performed in countries such as Russia, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Belgium and Japan, where she has also taught workshops and taken part in various performances.
She has also danced in some of Spain’s most prestigious tablaos, including Tablao Flamenco Cordobés, Corral de la Morería, Flamenco de Leones, Tablao Los Gallos, Tablao Villa-Rosa and Tablao El Arenal.
In addition, she was part of the show “La Cumbre del Baile”, sharing the bill with artists such as Jesús Carmona and Farruquito. She also accompanied maestro Enrique El Extremeño in the show “Por la verea”, presented at various peñas flamencas across Spain.
