Manuel Gómez
BIOGRAPHY & ORIGINS
Family roots and first steps on the guitar
Manuel Gómez was born in Marseille in 1986 and belongs to the Gitano family “Los Bolecos”, known in France and Spain for its close ties to flamenco. From a very young age he began playing the guitar with his father, Luis “El Boleco”, and his grandfather, Pepe “El Boleco”, who passed on to him a love and respect for this art.
At fourteen he began his professional career accompanying the singer El Zambo. From his very first performances he stood out for his compás and for a soniquete deeply rooted in the flamenco tradition of Jerez.
Accompanying singing and dance
Throughout his career he has performed in France, Spain and other European countries alongside singers such as Cristo Cortés, Luisa Muñoz, Alberto García and Emilio Cortés. He has also accompanied dancers such as Ana Pérez, Patricia Guerrero, Céline Daussan, El Choro, El Barrullo, Lucas “El Luco” and Delia Sofía.
His technical command and his ability to adapt to each artist have made him a sought-after guitarist for accompanying singing and dance. His playing does not seek to dominate, but to enhance the performance and help balance the ensemble on stage.
