BIOGRAPHY & ORIGINS
First steps and learning on stage
Nino de los Reyes began his artistic career at the age of nine in the show “Campanas Flamencas”, directed by Paco Sánchez, founder of the legendary company Cumbre Flamenca. From his earliest steps he shared the stage with great figures such as Joaquín Grilo, Milagros Mengíbar, La Tati, Antonio Reyes and his brother Isaac de los Reyes.
From a very young age he joined major flamenco companies, working with masters such as Eduardo Serrano “El Güito”, Carmen Cortés, Javier Barón and the Losada family. He also took part in shows by leading artists of today’s scene, including Alfonso Losa, Jesús Carmona and Carmen “La Talegona”.
Collaborations, creation and major productions
Throughout his career he has been part of the cast of the legendary singer Enrique Morente and has worked with artists such as Pepe Habichuela, Josemi Carmona, Juan José Suárez “Paquete”, José María Bandera, Niño Josele, Jesús del Rosario, Juan Carmona, Ramón el Portugués, Miguel el Rubio, Duquende, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, Alain Pérez and Rubén Dantas, among others.
His versatility and his knowledge of music and dance have also allowed him to collaborate with major figures from pop and jazz. He appeared on Paul Simon’s album “Stranger to Stranger” and spent six years in Chick Corea’s band, performing at venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the Montreux Festival.
As a creator, he has his own shows, including “Origen”, “Inside”, “Tierra”, “Uno más de la banda” and “PerpetuARTE”, the latter created with Triana Maciel. His work is defined by an open vision of flamenco and a constant search for new ways of connecting dance with other musical languages.
